Automated Marketing
is an indication of poor quality. True, or not true?

Not necessarily. You can automate a very high quality set of autoresponders or set of social media posts. Just because they're automated doesn't mean they're crap. But some automated things like Twitter Follow DMs are total crap and an insult to the recipient. "Oh thanks for the Follow baby, you rock! If you're bored and got no life check out ALL my pages and here's every f**kng link I've ever generated in my entire life."

Sales
Does the concept of sales translate to online businesses or business selling services? To me it seems 'gimmicky' and desperate.

Christmas already?
It's early November and I'm already seeing the first marketing. Is it really necessary to have one sixth of the year dominated by marketing in the name of a religious festival?

Facebook's dislike button
This is going to be a real challenge for brands who use sponsored content.

Quite a brave thing for Facebook to do.

Solving the 'Me-Too' marketing problem
An interesting phrase which covers a problem which is particularly felt by professional services companies such as solicitors and accountants. When you can't talk about your clients and your industry is very regulated, how can you stand out from your competitors?

Top Gear team hired by Amazon Prime
Have the BBC scored yet another own goal by giving streaming video one of their most successful products? They don't seem to be able to get anything right at the moment, and perhaps that is because they are a dying service.

Failing complaint opportunities
Research from SDL, a research company looking into online purchasing, has found that 82% of purchasers want to resolve problems with online purchases but if that fails only 1 in 5 will consider coming back.

Top failure reasons given were 35% poor response times, 31% employees who were not empowered to help, 30% employees who were poorly trained and 29 inaccurate or conflicting information.

Are these some of the most important stats in marketing?

Would you wear a cravat?
Cravat Club (http://www.cravat-club.com) are online retailers of cravats and they are hoping to make something out of a colourful way of expressing yourself that is much less restrictive than the necktie.

If they can get their marketing right I predict that this could catch on.

What other niches are there that could be revived?
