A close-up look at marketing ...

Pop ups
I seem to be seeing an increasing number of pop up calls to action which completely take over the screen so you can't see the thing that you specifically visited a site to see. If this is a news story I will often go back to Google and visit the next site instead, just because I don't like being hijacked.

How can it be good marketing?

It would be too easy to request further informarion on the type of sites you're visiting.

I don't see any pop-ups that I can recall being highly irritating. Itr could be because I use adblocker on all my computers. It even blocks adverts on Youtube.
I wouldn't leave home without it!

You're right though, installing pop-ups on your website is only going to invoke a negative response from your website visitors surely? Why would you do that?

I use Adblocker as well so don't tend to geet many other than the ridiculous sites which pop up a survey to complete only 20 seconds into the visit. A complete turn-off, if I have a choice I shut the site completely and go somewhere else.
