Birdseye launches Mashtags
There are some stories that seem as though they should be an April Fools' gag and this is one.

Birdseye has launched a brand of 'pot@to' chips (remember Smiley Faces?) called Mashtags. They are billed as #tasty and #new and are clearly aimed at 'digital kids'.

Pete Johnson, Senior Brand Manager at Birdseye, said; 'Social media is all about conversation and we’re confident Mashtags will resonate across various groups of people."

Is it clumsy or cool and will anyone play ball?

Who is going to buy them? Aren't smiley faces aimed at children? Seems a bit confused to me, but they have gained some media attention out of it.

Having a teenage and pre-teen, the advert was noted and interest expressed - so perhaps inspired.
