Meal deals
Researching my craft foods article (see right) I discovered that eating a packet of crisps a day is the equivalent of drinking five litres of cooking oil over a year (BBC News).

Why are garages and supermarkets allowed to run 'meal deal' promotions where it's cheaper to buy a sandwich and drink with crisps than without?. A discount is fine, people need to make their own minds up, but when it's cheaper you almost feel foolish not taking it.

I must remember to take a packed lunch more often.

Feel foolish yet healthier, is what I say. I would suggest saving the crisps and handing to a food bank, or something, but that does not feel right either.

Perhaps we should make more demands of options, such as a packet of crisps or an apple, or somesuch?

Food bank collection points at motorway services makes sense.

Give all the crisps to me please. I love crisps. 5 litres of cooking oil a year is a good trade off for such pleasures.
