How do you measure your marketing? Do you measure it? Analytics tools can be confusing and it's difficult to know what data is actually meaningful.

Is data analysis relevant for smaller businesses - or do entrepreneurs just know what works instinctively?

Google Analytics can be overwhelming. I only track:

- how many site visitors
- how many pages they look at
- how long they stay on the site

- how many organic searches found me
- what keywords they searched
- what traffic came from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest

The real measure of success is how many enquiries I get from the site, or subscribers sign up to my tipsheet, or products I sell
